Over 1,000 people are voting to take industrial action at Newcastle University in an attempt to plug a £35m shortfall. According to a previous voting ballot at the university, 76.6% of members were in favour of industrial action.
The funding cuts are extremely challenging for universities, along with spend increasing bloated salaries and mis-spending on buildings.
Universities across the country are having similar issues, with the proposal to create cheaper but shorter courses moving forward, however this is not yet confirmed.
